About

I created this website as a place to simply express my thoughts and ideas in one place. I wanted to express ideas around my values which focus on health, learning, and environment.

Wabi Sabi

Wabi sabi is a concept that comes from Japan. Wikipedia describes wabi sabi as "In traditional Japanese aestheticsWabi-sabi (δΎ˜ε―‚) is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.[1] The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete". [2]"

That just gives one a sense of what the concept represents. I'm continuing to read learn about the concept myself. I don't know if I can ever be an expert in the idea, but the idea resonates with me about life in general. Life, in general, isn't perfect; my life isn't perfect. Things ebb and flow, changing throughout life and the best I can figure to do is to be present as much as I can. I'm learning to get away from worrying about the future or overthinking the past. Simply being present in the moment.

The work on this website represents some of that imperfection.
